Bring this TV back, please
She has a conversational delivery with bursts of gorgeous emotion in *that* superlative voice. It's her style. Buckley's voice is so beautiful and resonant that people sometimes don't notice how well she calibrates it to the lyric. A totally unique frequency as a performer too. ❤
What an amazing persona change from the interview to when she cloaks herself in the song.
obsessing over the little jumps in the beginning
❤SO BEAUTIFUL BERNADETTE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😅
Miss my MOTHER and FATHER 😢
I fell for her when she sang Gee Wizz
❤absolutely Beautiful Bernadette ❤
Pure magic. A true original.
Will there be *A* part on Broadway that strong? Goes on to create Norma and Fantine, and win more Tonys for Rose, JoAnn. Not to mention Mrs Lovett...plus War Paint and Women on The Verge.
Beautiful voice! Beautiful song!! Well done!
Ahhh, what a TREAT!! Those PIPES, that SMILE and those bright sparkling eyes! That's my Chavaleh!💞
i love this woman SO MUCH
She was made for the Broadway stage. And how about that accompanist? Cute flourishes.
This is from the exact month and year I first saw Laurie do this role. She had returned a 2nd time (1st return was 1991) to do Griz for a few months. Took me totally by surprise. I said why does she sound so familiar? Turns out in 1987 or 1988 my teacher had played Joseph for us and I remembered that remarkable rocky voice. I was stunned it was her. And how electric she sounded. She was marvelous from the first note even in her title song when she utters "remark the cat." Like another commenter, Laurie lives in my bones. I have seen her husband at the train where i sometimes go into Manhattan and I've wanted to just say a few words. I think I will next time. How much Laurie meant to me.
My favorite voice on the planet.
She's great and that song is hysterically funny.😊
Her voice is so beautiful ❤️
Okay. Bernadette looks so young.
OUTSTANDING rendition of surely one of the very greatest songs in the entire history of existence. THANK you Hank Sr, Bernadette, Elvis and the LORD.....
It's in credible how miss Lupones just seems to keep getting better xxx
If ever a voice was made for Broadway….
The definition of emotional honesty and wearing a heart on a sleeve
Thank you Bernadette.
One of the most amazing voices ever. ❤
She is right up there with Barbra
Sublime. Cute, sweet and so talented.
jasons shirt 😭😭😭
Many years ago I had the great fortune and pleasure to meet and work with the talented, lovely, and beautiful Bernadette Petters. Complementary and giving. Never a nicer celebrity and person you could ever meet! She is truly one in a million... Love you Bernadette!
I would marry her just to hear her sing. If she didn't want to get married, I would let her see me nekkid!! Ain't nothing too good for her!!
Carol Burnett and Bernadette Peters sing Sondheim at the Diner!
Oh look! The wonderful Bernadette Peters singing a song about my love life
I'm obsessed this is so 90s.... also i want that tshirt so bad
I've always loved this song. Bernadette Peters sings it beautifully. A beautiful and very affectionate male cat has made me his buddy, and that's the name I have given him. Buddy like it when I play this on the piano just for him!
How beautiful! Lovely...haunting! ❤
very poor sound
Beautiful voice. Today's so called "artist" can never
Was brilliant in Kojak.

The most beautiful voice to ever grace Hollywood!!!
Wonderful, wonderful, Beloved! Just Beautiful...
Would be a great song for a children's chorus to perform!
Actually she did it with a children's chorus on her album Betty Buckley in 1986
Kojak "once more from Birdland" brought me here.
Love my Texas gal
omg she is stunning PERIOD.
She played a horn in the jerk
So beautiful! Xxxooo
I remember taking the subway from Brooklyn to the Alvin Theatre in Manhattan with my sister to see my first Broadway show, Annie. I was mesmerized by Andrea McArdle and the rest of the great cast and of course the magnificent songs. During “NYC”, when “A Star to Be” (Laurie Beechman) sang her part, I vividly remember being blown away by the incredible power and quality of her voice. It amazes me how impactful her voice was for that relatively small part! It really stood out in a big way for me What a tremendous talent! I continue to listen to the original cast recording on a regular basis. It never gets old. I completely understand what Andrea meant when she said “Barbara who?”.
